Delta County Court Records

Delta County court records are court-related physical or electronic materials compiled into a single case file to serve as the official source of information for each case handled by the court system. A typical case file contains indexes, dockets, register of actions, certified transcripts, orders, decrees, judgments, and minute orders. These files may also include excerpts from the Delta County arrest records.

Are Court Records Public in Delta County?

According to the Public Access to Court Records Directive issued by the Office of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Colorado, members of the public—including private individuals, the media, and other non-profit or government entities whose access to court records is not affected by law or the order of a court—have the right to inspect and copy the particulars of a court record.

While court records are generally public, certain documents may be suppressed, restricted, or protected by statute or court orders. These include criminal records containing a charge of sexual assault, offenses involving a child victim, and expunged records. In such cases, identifying information about the victim is redacted or entirely sealed from public access. Redacted or sealed information will be available to a regular person only if they have obtained a court order for good cause.
